Not Running

I have not been running at all lately.  I feel horrible about it.  I was doing so well and then life happened.  I got caught up with studying and just feel like there is not enough time in the day.  Plus it is super HOT here.  I want to get back into and try to take 30 minutes out of my day for myself.  Here's to hopeful motivation!

I am a terrible blogger!

I do really good with my blog for about a week and then I totally drop off the deep end.  I have still been running.  Today is going to be C25K's W5D3.  20 straight minutes of running.  I think I can, I think I can.  I handled the 2 8 minutes of running with a 5 minute walk in between pretty well.  I just told myself that I could look at how much time was left until the song that was playing when I started running and the next song were completely finished.  Then I only had about 2 minutes of running left and I can handle that!  It is hot outside today, so I know I will sweat like crazy!  Oh well, that is what I am out there for.

Treadmill Run

I ran on the treadmill today for the first time in a couple of weeks.  It was really hard.  I feel like everything was going so well when I was only running on the treadmill.  Then I switched to the road and was starting to feel so much better about it too.  It was so hard going back to the treadmill.  I'm a little discouraged right now but I know it will get better.  Probably going to run on the road again on Friday.  Today's run was:

Didn't Run

I didn't get my run in yesterday.  J had something to do for work until around 9 o'clock so it was just C and me.  I could have taken him in the stroller, but I would have had to avoid the park and that would have been hard.  Plus, I really like running without the distractions.  I am going tonight to do my C25K W4D2 and will try to do W4D3 tomorrow so I don't get behind.

I was also presented with the opportunity to do some group training for the next 14 weeks for a 10K that I was already hoping to run.  It is 3 nights a week and I don't know if I am ready to commit that much time away from my family.  I know that it would be good for me to do some group training and it would hold me accountable for training.  We will have to see if that is going to work out!

Well it didn't happen

I didn't do 30 Day Shred last night.  I decided to study instead and the entire time I was studying I was thinking about 30DS.  I guess I should have just gotten up on done it, but I really need the study time.  Tonight is C25K W4D2.  It is pretty windy today so it will probably be another pretty hard run.  I am looking forward to it though.  Hopefully my new Garmin 305 will be here pretty soon.  Then I will be able to tell how far I am going and if I am improving.  We will see what happens tonight!

The Weekend

I actually made it on my run Friday.  I was very surprised because we had a lot going on that day.  I felt really good during and after the run.  I can really tell that I am making progress.  I did not do any running on Saturday and did W4D1 on Sunday night.  The wind was blowing pretty hard, but I made it the entire way through.  Life is now back to normal with C being back.  We have the whole house to ourselfs now and I am so excited!  J and I have said that we are going to have a good eating week and I hope we stick to that.  I will go on my next run Tuesday.  I am going to try to get back into 30 Day Shred tonight.  We will see how that goes!

Friday's Run

I did end up taking the day off yesterday and we went to watch a friend's band play in town.  I find it hard not to take advantage of a childless night.  I miss C so much and he will be back today, but I also miss a great night out with just J.  Today's run will be the C25K program W3D3 which is the same as W3D2.  We will make this happen today!

Think I'm taking a day off

I ran my planned run yesterday, even though I didn't really want to.  I think I was about 3 seconds ahead of my pace from Monday.  I guess that is good.  At least it wasn't slower!  I decided to run through the last walk for the second time.  6 minutes straight running is a pretty big deal for me!  I have ran outside the last few times and I think it is starting to get better.  I was mainly running on a treadmill so outside is different for me.  I just decided that if I was going to run a road race, I should probably start training on the road.  It is 6 months, 1 week, and 1 day until the half marathon I am planning on running and I can't wait to keep up on my training.  I think I am going to rest today and study some at home.  Tomorrow will be W3D3 of C25K.  It will be the same run as yesterday.

Running

I have decided to start training for a half marathon.  I have been saying for quite a while that I wanted to run a marathon but have never actually done anything to make that dream come true.  I tend to be a big talker and not a big walker runner.  So I am starting a blog to track my progress and hopefully hold me accountable for my training.  Today's agenda:
